Expect Something Great
So many times we limit God by our expectations. Of course we don’t actually limit God’s ability, but because God gave us free will and wants our love to be genuine, He will not typically step in where we don’t invite Him. Remember the scripture from
Revelation 3:20?
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” He’ll only come in when we open the door. When our expectations are right, it’s like we’re flinging the door wide open to let God do the miraculous in our lives.
Will you be disappointed sometimes? Sure. Will God say “no” to some of your requests? Sure. He’s God, He knows best, and He makes His own choices. But if you never expect, you may never receive. Sometimes, the gift can even be right in front of us, but if we don’t expect that it’s there for us to take, we can walk away without ever having received it.
Expect God to do something great! Expect His healing! Expect His deliverance! Expect His freedom! Assuming you’ve already asked God to be your Lord and Savior, there is nothing He wants more than to give you these things. Expect it!
